What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. We are alive because of life energy or Ki (Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskirt). Life energy flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians, and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura.
The healthy flow of Ki nourishes our organs and cells. When the flow of healthy Ki is disrupted, it causes diminished functioning of one or more organs and tissues of the physical body.
Reiki infuses positive energy and thoughts which raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body allowing the body to heal. It is powerful yet gentle.
Reiki is directed at your surrounding energy field or aura. You can either sit or lay down in a comfortable position. You are welcome to close your eyes and breathe in and out gentle, deep breaths. Just relax and listen to music. Your body will do the work without you even thinking about it.
I will move my hands 3-8 inches above your body, starting at your head and moving down your body, maintaining the distance from your body.
After the 60-minute session we will talk about what you felt, what I noticed and if you feel any changes regarding your intention or previous pain.
